Why a retreat?

As you probably know if you’re reading this, I’m a Motherhood Coach, have an online business and predominantly work remotely. So why am I, seemingly all of a sudden, making a song and dance in the past few weeks about the live retreat I’m co-hosting 2-5 May 2023?
There’s a few reasons.

Firstly, because it’s time to connect in person, for real life, as Bluey says! Too much time has passed that we haven’t been able to do this. I’m excited to meet clients and others who I have only ever met online. I love the capabilities that technology offers us, however there is no substitute for coming together in person, don’t you think?

Secondly, I have been on two other retreats in the last 2 years, and the feeling you have when you’re on them is simply incredible. Thinking about it takes me back to how happy I felt. Relaxed, present, alive, free, in my body, connected to my feelings and intuition, the biggest smile on my face and a full feeling in my heart. I wanted to experience this again, and offer it to others in my life.

Stepping away from the everyday from time-to-time is fulfilling, and in my view, essential. My husband and I have been prioritising it more in the past few years and it makes a world of difference – for our individual and family wellbeing, relationships, and ultimately the outcomes we’re getting in our lives. I can’t recommend it enough!

I went on a hiking retreat in 2021 and here’s what I shared on Instagram afterwards:

Guess what… I climbed a mountain today! And one yesterday too. ⛰

Instead of a 40th birthday party I chose to celebrate my milestone with a @girlstrek hike on the Spicers Scenic Rim Trails. It’s been A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. and I’m incredibly grateful that I was able to do it at this time!

I have a few quick takeaways from this experience to share with you:

  1. When intuition speaks, you listen. Book the trip, do the thing, the little voice always knows!
  2. Keep stretching yourself beyond your comfort zone! It truly is where the growth and good stuff is.
  3. When you feel scared, fatigued, or unsure of what’s next, just take the next step. And that will lead to the next step, and the one after that. Focus on one step at a time.
  4. Think and act like the person you want to become. What would she do in the next decision?

Creating the Rise & Shine retreat from scratch (with the help of my amazing team), when I’ve never done it before, is stretching me beyond my comfort zone. But as I say above, that’s where the growth and magic is! Stepping beyond your safety zone grows you in all sorts of ways you won’t expect, allowing you to live life in a more expanded way.

Prioritising you – expands you.

Paying the money – expands you.

Asking for help at home – expands you.

Leaving home – expands you.

A new experience – expands you.

New connections – expand you.

Facing your fears – expands you.

Learning more about yourself – expands you.

Those who feel the fear and do it anyway experience what it’s like to continue stepping beyond their edges and express more of who they really are. If you’d like to be one of those people, please join us for the:

Plus so much more, all designed for you to relax, reconnect and be replenished.

I’m delighted to be co-hosting this retreat with Yoga Guide and Relationship Coach, Sunny Roberts.

Sunny is deeply passionate about helping women return to their feminine energy. Born and raised in Germany and working in a corporate career, she spent her 20s operating in masculine push mode and burnt out at 28 which led her to become a yoga and mindfulness teacher.

Becoming a mum of two boys she found herself struggling in her own marriage of 7 years and was ready to give up, when she discovered that embracing her feminine energy was the key to lasting connection and love in her relationship.

Today she is on a mission to help other women have the same awakening. Sunny deeply believes that every woman deserves to feel loved and cherished in her relationship.

What separates Sunny from others in this space is that she actually lives what she talks about.

Yes it can take some organising in order to get away, but it’s always worth it when you do. Trust that you’re ready for whatever you feel an impulse about. There is always a way to make it work when you really want to!

Helping mums find their spark again is truly one of the greatest things about my job as a motherhood coach.
