Behind the Pages of Seen Again

Five lunchtime conversations through The Illumination Journey

Have you read Seen Again and wished you could go deeper into the stories, themes and thinking behind it?

Are you navigating a season of change yourself, feeling somewhere between who you were and who you’re becoming?

Join me for five Tuesdays as we journey through Seen Again, one stage at a time:

Smouldering → Flickering → Burning → Glowing → Illuminating

Each 45-minute session will correspond with that stage of the book.

We’ll explore the themes, contributor stories, key takeaways and selected Journal Embers within that section. Then we'll go behind the pages into the thinking, decisions and experiences that shaped it.

I’ll also share things I haven’t explicitly unpacked in the book, including the emotional visibility scale that sits beneath The Illumination Journey and helped me build the framework.

And because people are often just as curious about how a book comes to life, I’ll take you behind the scenes of writing and publishing Seen Again too.

How did I fit writing around family and work?

How did I know what the book needed to become?

How did I find a publisher?

What changed during editing?

What didn’t make it onto the page?

And what has it been like to finally send the book out into the world?

More than a book discussion

While Seen Again grew from matrescence, The Illumination Journey speaks to something much broader:

What happens when we look in the mirror and wonder: Who am I now?

Each week there’ll be space to reflect on how the ideas within the book might meet your own experience of identity, transition, change and becoming.

Part book deep-dive.

Part author behind-the-scenes.

Part teaching and reflection.

And plenty of room for questions and conversation.

What to expect

Each lunchtime will include:

  • a deeper look at that stage of Seen Again

  • themes and insights from the contributor stories

  • teaching from The Illumination Journey

  • behind-the-scenes stories from writing and publishing the book

  • a reflection prompt or Journal Ember

  • time for questions and conversation

Bring your lunch, a cuppa, your copy of Seen Again if you have one, and a notebook.

The teaching portion of each session will be recorded, so you can catch up if you can’t attend live.

You’re curious about The Illumination Journey and the thinking underneath the framework.

You’re moving through a transition of your own.

You’re fascinated by what really goes into writing and publishing a book.

Or you’d simply love 45 minutes each week to pause, think and have a meaningful conversation.

You don’t need to have finished the book to join us.

A little note from me

There is so much about Seen Again that I couldn’t fit within the pages of the book.

The stories behind the stories. The thinking underneath the framework. The decisions that shaped it. The things I learned while writing it, and the things I understand differently now that it’s out in the world.

I’d love these five weeks to feel like pulling up a chair together over lunch and having some of those conversations.

I look forward to seeing you.
